Whenever, wherever, as many times as you like, all included in the monthly fees! Let`s pick up the pace!

1 more month at Omiya Budokan

Only 1 more month here at the current location due to the upcoming construction on the Omiya Budokan.

Last week we went through all 4 ushiro waza techniques from the 3rd kyu syllabus. Long techniqes, however, most of the movements have been practiced in previous techniques. Don`t think of them as completely new, put what you already know together. The principles are always the same.

Omiya 10/20

Yokomen uchi techniques this morning in Omiya.

yokomen uchi ikkajo osae ichi (tachi, suwari)

yokomen uchi kotegaeshi ichi (tachi, suwari)

Todays focus was on the timing and posture of the initial block, as well as the crossing and changing of hands in the cut down.

suwari waza rocks!

Strengthening those knees, hips and toes every Wednesday at Meiryukan Omiya.

Another class with almost half the training time done in suwari waza. Today we worked on one of this year`s shokyu test syllabus techniques - suwari waza katate mochi nikajo osae ichi. A seemingly simple technique, however, filled with a ton of great areas to focus on. The use of the toes and ankles, the rotation of hips and placement of body weight in each and every movement from beginning to end. A new favorite!
