3/ 31 suwari waza

Hips down, feet together, weight forward... Working on some seated techniques at last Wednesday`s Meiryukan Omiya class.

kata mochi ikkajo osae ichi(tachi,suwari) A tough technique to not get tempted to use arm power on the initial cut down and next follow through step. We focused on making distance and using the shoulder correctly throughout.

katate mochi sokumen iriminage ni   Making space, then closing the space. Easier said than done.
